My name is Kevin Ward, and I'm interested in mechatronics and robotics. Throughout school and work, I've always tried to widen my skillsets and gain basic and foundational knowledge of various subjects. In fact, I decided on Computer Engineering because I liked sitting in the crossroads of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Add on a Mechanical Engineering-focused minor, and I have an extremely wide area of experience.
I wouldn't consider myself an expert in any one field, but my adaptability to new situations and my broad foundations in multiple core engineering disciplines prepares me for almost any challenge.Â
Throughout my 5 year journey at Stevens Institute of Technology, I've completed the following:
4 Unique Co-ops
1 Study Abroad (South Korea / Korea University IWC)
I've also maintained a >3.9/4.0 GPA, volunteered as a Pinnacle Peer Advisor to incoming freshmen, and worked as a tutor for numerous undergrad classes.
My teams were awarded the ECE Outstanding Senior Design Award for Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Student Organization Growth Award.
Outside of academics, I also participated in multiple leadership roles in student organizations:
Stevens Trivia Club
Co-Founder & President (2022S-2023S)
Castle Point Anime Convention
Secretary (2022F-2023S)
Head of PR (2021F-2022S)
Vice-Chair of Programming (2020S-2021S)
Head of Panels (2019F-2020S)
Head of Japanese Arcade Cabinets (2018F-2019S)
Stevens Robotics Club
President (2021S-2022S)
Vice-President (2020F-2021S)
Alongside my academics, I've also widened my personal horizons with the following:
Attended ~8 Broadway plays
Participated in NYC Restaurant Week multiple times
Experienced a 3* Michelin dinner
Tried pottery and rock climbing
Been inside the cave under Stevens campus (legally)
Visited Japan and Canada
