My research focuses on long-run regional growth. I am specifically interested in the persistent impact of historical infrastructure investments such as railroads, electricity networks and town foundations. My work also deals with long-run regional inequality and I provide evidence by constructing and analyzing regional GDP per capita data that go back to the 16th century.
Together with Joan Rosés and Chris Meissner, I am the co-editor of the European Review of Economic History
