In 2009, Danville, Kentucky was twinned with Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. Since that time, the two cities have formed a close relationship which has included artist exchanges, student trips, and adult visits.
Selected students will participate in a cultural exchange with Danville’s “Sister City,” Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland, in which participants from both countries will travel to the other to live, explore, and learn for a week in July 2026. Danville students will travel with a chaperone to Carrickfergus for a week early in the month, and stay with a host family for the duration of their trip. Carrickfergus students will visit participant Danville families shortly thereafter. While there is a cost for the program, need-based scholarships are available for some students.
