Kentucky Sister Cities programs are part of the broader Sister Cities International (SCI) network, which fosters global relationships at the local level by connecting cities and communities in Kentucky with partner cities around the world. These partnerships are built to promote peace, cultural understanding, and mutual economic and educational benefits.

The Young Artists and Authors Showcase (YAAS) is an annual art contest that encourages youth worldwide to express the mission of Sister Cities through original artwork, literature, poetry, photography, and music.

KY State Representative: Kay Sargent

Kay Sargent is the Kentucky State Representative for Sister Cities International and the Executive Director of Lexington Sister Cities. She is a member of the Sister Cities International Board of Directors, the Honorary Board of Directors, and serves on the Finance and Membership Committees.

Sister Cities is building bridges between the people of Kentucky and our international neighbors to achieve greater mutual understanding and to strengthen our civic, economic, and cultural ties. Through people-to-people programs and cultural exchanges, we have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all our communities.

As the world becomes increasingly smaller, our Kentucky communities face numerous opportunities; and we are looking forward to expanding our international partnerships.
