Unheard Goodbye

To the two most important women in my life, hello. You needn’t worry for much longer, I promise. I’m set to come home from deployment to make it to someone’s eighteenth birthday. Hopefully, just in time for it too. The present I have in mind, which I am not going to say anything about, should arrive right before me if nothing goes wrong.


Still, it’s crazy to think that my little girl’s about to graduate. Last I remember, someone wanted to make it to the OCAD University’s Media Arts course to chase her dreams as an animator. Well, I am looking forward to seeing your works of art, Marrow. I had a feeling all those days of watching you sketch away on paper and on your computer were going to pay off in the end.


What else am I forgetting? Right, me. No major news. Fortunately, everything has been very quiet recently. We’re stationed at a military outpost, and the biggest problems for me here are the mosquitoes and the heat. Hell, our forces managed to take back a small town from the rebels. You should have been there to see the smiles on everyone’s faces. The kids were very happy. I have enclosed a photo of us with some of the civilians.


Anyway, enough with the war! I can’t say how happy I am to be finally seeing you again.
