My BHAG(Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to equip teachers in the district with tools and pedagogy to create engaging, authentic learning experiences for students integrated within the curriculum.
During the first year of implementation, my goal is to have three teachers per elementary building implementing authentic learning.
This goal is not going to be easy to implement. After reading Fink's guide (2013), I have put together an overview using a 3-column chart on how I can accomplish the goal of helping teachers create authentic learning experiences in their classrooms. It is separated into precise learning goals: Foundational Knowledge, Application, Integration, Human Dimension, Caring and Learning how to learn. These steps will help others trying to implement my Innovation Plan through these broad steps. This allows teachers the ability to see what needs to be learned/accomplished, how they can learn and the assessment piece for themselves. The 3 Column Table is an overview for other educators to use as a guideline to help implement authentic learning experiences in the classroom.
