Benefits of cooking with your child

Cooking is a wonderful way to connect with children, from whisking to stirring the possibilities are endless as you and you’re little one creates magical moments.

The joy of cooking starts at the very beginning of choosing your recipe from cupcakes to homemade pizza the opportunities are endless, (and in my case a little messy). The time you take to cook and experiment with your child doesn’t stop once the ovens off you then are able to sit together laugh and discuss what you both have made as you enjoy a yummy meal made with laughter and joy. Don’t worry if your little master chef chooses their own path instead of sticking to a recipe, embrace your child’s enthusiasm and creativity as they navigate their way through the pantry.

Cooking is a great way to introduce new concepts or even re-visit existing ones as you are able to enrich your child’s skills and vocabulary. From naming ingredients to experimenting with measuring cups cooking has always been a wonderful journey from start to end. Not sure where to start, why not pick a family favourite or try something new no meal can’t be fixed with laughter and sprinkles.

Happy cooking!
