The Salt Life Video Slideshow

The theme of my slideshow is “Living The Salt Life," a visual slideshow that celebrates the joy and serenity of spending time at the beach. This collection begins with the sunrise and ends with the sunset, symbolizing how the beach is a place where time slows down and meaningful memories are made. For my family the beach has always a cherished retreat. Whether on the east coast or the west coast we've enjoyed countless vacations soaking in the beauty of the coastline and enjoying the Salt Life. We love the beauty of the beach, splashing in the waves, and feeling the sand on our toes. I chose this theme to evoke a sense of gratitude and highlight the everyday magic found in togetherness.

I created the slideshow using Canva's Video editor which offered an intuitive user interface and a wide range of  creative tools. One of the biggest challenges was curating just the right photos to tell a cohesive story while staying within time and file size constraints. I carefully selected images that captured both the energy and calm of our beach experiences. To enhance the emotional flow, I added transitions and background music. I was especially proud to learn how to apply zoom animations to create the Ken Burns effect. The final result is a polished, emotionally resonant video that reflects both my creative vision and technical growth.
