My Website
With a background in education and now in Instructional Design, I bring a diverse range of experience in designing and developing learning content. I'm detail oriented and thrive when creating training solutions such as eLearning courses, Instructor-led presentations, and Quick Reference Cards.
I am excited to be on a path where my passion for education intersects with my love for visual design. As an Instructional Designer at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I continually work expanding my graphic design skills and diving deeper research based design strategies to create meaningful learning experiences for my customers.
I design engaging and inspiring learning experiences for adult learners that are aligned with clearly defined learning objectives. My approach blends the structured framework of the ADDIE Model, the iterative flexibility of the SAM Model, and the empathic focus of Learner-Centered Design.
What sets my courses apart is not only the process I follow but the principles I apply. I incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Knowles' Four Principles of Adult Learning, and Merrill's Principles of Instruction to guide my planning and development. I also pay close attention to visual design elements - such as background, color, typography, and imagery- to ensure each course is visually balanced and free from distractions.
Above all, my courses interactive! This interactivity draws the learner in and supports the activation and application of new skills. After completing the course, the learners are equipped to integrate what they've learned into their everyday work and life.
Over the past year, I collaborated with a design team to revamp a series of computer-based trainings that guide users of across various roles in navigating the Concur Travel Interface. I used Articulate Storyline 360 to design and develop the trainings and leveraged tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro to enhance the visual elements.
Central to this project was maintaining open communication with SMEs and stakeholders. I kept them involved through every iterations, ensuring their feedback shaped the direction of the course. This collaborative approach helped align the final product with both learner needs and organizational goals.
