Created a raindrop shape and used the platonic solid for the center. I found that while it still wasn't hard coding the commands for creating and changing the shapes, to figure out what I wanted it to look like it was easier to do it manually and then turn it into code.
While I wasn't able to get the whole video to render due to my laptop overheating during the process as a result of the cooling fan being broken, I was able to get a few frames rendered before that happened. The look I had been going for was lights twinkling on and off by making the raindrop shapes be a phongE and the center have a surface shader with a spot light.
