Originally, the kiosk was designed to be a place for Marines to reflect, and place their buddies' dog tags to remember them. After many emails and much discussion, I settled on the final design, pictured in the plans below.
Over a year was spent planning the kiosk design, referencing other online designs, and talking with the regiment to ensure that I met everyone's criteria. I went through many revisions, and eventually settled on what I thought was the simplest design possible. I did calculations to ensure the posts could hold the weight, the wind load on the signboard would be held by the foundations, and that the kiosk would look good in general.
