The titular character, Vesper's just a person trying their best to get through college. That is, until one night, where they come upon one of the Dreamstone shards and obtains its magical power. Not only does it grant their wish of being taken seriously as whatever they identify as, but they also gain the ability to transform into the magical superhero, Cosmos!
Great. More to deal with on top of class. Regardless, they fight back against the villainous Aion and tries their hardest to not only protect their college from danger, but also get good grades while they're at it!
A classmate of Vesper's, Ezra is a bit of an outsider, always seeming rather isolated from everyone else. Of course, being an outsider themself, Vesper takes interest in him and tries to learn more about him. Even so, he doesn't seem all that willing to open up.
Straight-laced, rather blunt, and more than a bit of a perfectionist. Is that really all there is to this young man, or is he truly hiding something deep under the surface like Vesper suspects?
Vesper's friend since middle school, Sonya takes no shit and is always ready to stand up for herself and others. She fully supports Vesper's escapades as Cosmos, and readily lends a hand whenever they're struggling with their dysphoria, whether it's with emotional support or a pair of sharp salon scissors.
She and Lazarus both help out Vesper as much as they can, as well as getting into misadventures of their own. Admittedly, if Lazarus didn't stop her, she'd fight the monsters herself.
Another classmate of Vesper's, Lazarus comes off as the friendly and chill guy of the group, always taking great care regarding his appearance and laughing things off. Although he isn't as feisty as Sonya or has powers like Vesper does, he tries his best to help Vesper fight back against Aion and his henchmen.
Nonetheless, he works alongside Sonya to help out Vesper with their predicament. Whether it's helping them shop for a new wardrobe, taking notes for them while they're away fighting monsters, or even just affirming their identity, he helps in any way that he can.
