My name is Kaylie Smith, and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Oregon, graduating in June of 2022. I am majoring in English and minoring in Leadership & Administrative Skills. I am also pursuing a Educational Foundations: Secondary Certificate within UO's College of Education. Starting June 2022, I will be in graduate school, specifically UOTeach, pursuing my Master's of Education.

My main experiences stem from the outdoors - I have coached golf and am co-facilitating an environmental education program for elementary school students in Eugene. As a future high school English teacher, my goal is to foster students' connection to learning and engaging with curriculum in a positive way.

I am also currently an emergency-licensed guest teacher for the Eugene School District 4J. These experiences have provided me with opportunities to develop my pedagogical skills in order to be better prepared as an educator.
