Synthesis 1 introduced me to interdisciplinary and antiracist approaches to communicating about the climate crisis. Throughout the course, I examined how language, media, and storytelling shape public understanding of environmental issues, and how effective communication can inspire action. I learned to analyze texts not just for their content, but for how they’re crafted, considering the author's purpose, audience, and rhetorical strategies. This course helped me build critical reading and writing skills while encouraging me to think deeply about how communication can be a powerful tool for social and environmental change.
