The Internal Assessment (IA) is a key component of the IB Diploma Programme that allows students to explore a topic of personal interest within each subject area. It is an individual research project or investigation that is internally graded by teachers and externally moderated by the IB. The IA encourages students to apply the skills and knowledge they have developed in class to real-world contexts, whether through experiments, data analysis, historical research, or mathematical modeling. This process helps students strengthen their critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent research abilities.
