Students developed watercolor skills over 4 weeks in this Introduction to Watercolor unit. They practiced washes, color mixing, and textures. The Mini Project involved a four-object study where students had the freedom to choose whichever objects to paint. They focused on layering, color mixing, and textures. Following this, students explored an artist and artwork, focusing on themes. They created mind maps to plan theme-based watercolor paintings and three thumbnail sketches to organize compositions. The unit concluded with a classroom gallery walk and group critique.
