Throughout the unit, students delved into watercolor's possibilities and limitations, laying a foundational skill set through wash and texture practices. As they tackled the Mini Project, their confidence grew, allowing for the exploration of various techniques. The final project followed the TAB (Teaching Artists Behaviors) approach: Artists Explore Themes. Students discussed, researched, and applied themes to their work, combining watercolor skills with thematic elements. This resulted in a diverse array of meaningful and significant final products, each reflecting the individual student's creative approach.
