Started fieldwork for the Language in Later Life project

I started interviewing speakers for the Language in Later Life Project (PIs: Prof. Alison Chasteen and Prof. Sali A. Tagliamonte), which explores linguistic, social and cognitive factors influencing language behaviour in later life.

Dissertation fieldwork in Maine

Received SGS Research Travel Grant

I received an SGS Research Travel Grant for my dissertation fieldwork in Northern Maine. Excited to get started and visit Northern Maine from June-August 2018!

From May 28-30, 2018, I attended Discourse Pragmatic Variation and Change 4 in Helsinki where I gave a talk on adjectives of positive evaluation in Toronto, Canada and York, England on behalf of Sali A. Tagliamonte and myself.
