My colleagues and I presented our framework for coding stance at NWAV 47 in NYC this fall.

I started interviewing speakers for the Language in Later Life Project (PIs: Prof. Alison Chasteen and Prof. Sali A. Tagliamonte), which explores linguistic, social and cognitive factors influencing language behaviour in later life.

From late June to mid August, I conducted sociolinguistic fieldwork in and around Oakfield, ME for my dissertation.

I received an SGS Research Travel Grant for my dissertation fieldwork in Northern Maine. Excited to get started and visit Northern Maine from June-August 2018!

From May 28-30, 2018, I attended Discourse Pragmatic Variation and Change 4 in Helsinki where I gave a talk on adjectives of positive evaluation in Toronto, Canada and York, England on behalf of Sali A. Tagliamonte and myself.

On May 5, 2018, my colleagues Timothy Gadanidis, Angelika Kiss, and Lisa Schlegl presented two papers on behalf of our research group at CVC 10 in Winnipeg.
