Kate Heavey
BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Qualified in Individual, Couple, Marriage and Two Counselling
Welcome to my website which I hope will give you an idea of how I work and why you might want to work with me.
You are here as, at some level, you are dissatisfied with your life and relationships and are feeling a level of discomfort. This is your reason for wanting change to live a more contented satifsying life.
The benefit of counselling and psychotherapy is that it gives you insight and an external perspective to support you in living a more harmonious life with more wholesome relationships, with yourself and others.
What I offer: -
1. Insight into patterns which are keeping you stuck
2. A different way of looking at things
3. Practical tools to help you manage life differently (improved toolbox)
4. Weekly appointments, at the same time, for as long as you require
5. Active participation- I am not a counsellor who just sits and listens (although I do listen very well!).
I trained in general counselling which means I can offer counselling for most symptoms, i.e., anxiety, work challenges, family issues, perfectionism, anger expression, trauma, etc. with my areas of specialism being: -
· Couple Counselling / Marriage Guidance
· Childhood / attachment (including Adverse Childhood Experiences and Mother / Father Wounds)
Our work will incorporate looking at ‘The Self’s’. Moving from self-sabotage, self-doubt, self-critic, self-berate and self-negativity to improved self-esteem, self-love, self-confidence, self-acceptance, self-worth, self-compassion, self-trust, self-validation and self-regulation.
**Update 3 October 2024**
I currently have two weekly appointments available: -
Tuesday 2pm or Thursday 9.30am - face to face, online or telephone.
Please contact me if a weekly time works for you.
