Kate Ellis is the heroine of a series of books by Simon Langley-Evans (writing under the pen name S.C. Langley).

The series comprises a mixed collection of novels and composite novellas which follow Kate's journey from life as a naive young policewoman on the streets of Southampton, to a cynical, hard-boiled detective inspector leading a murder team. Kate chases justice through the failures of systems and people in authority. She's stubborn even when the world tells her not to be.
