Miss Cecily Ryan comes to us from a wide background of musical experiences... starting right here in Kutztown! She went through all 13 years of public school at KASD starting at Greenwich in 2001 and graduating in 2014. In high school she was involved in every single performing ensemble, as well as counties, districts, and regionals in band, orchestra, and chorus. After graduating from KAHS, she started her undergraduate career at West Chester University in West Chester, PA studying Music Education with a focus on vocal singing. While enrolled at WCU, she participated in many different ensembles, including the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, Concert Band, Cantari Donne Women's Choir, Mastersingers, and Concert Choir, where she was both section leader and Vice President. She worked at the Choir School of Delaware in Wilmington, DE where she was a choral scholar working with students age 7-18 in an after school program focused on scholarship and musicianship. After graduating magna cum laude from WCU, she taught for a year in Sussex County, DE at Seaford High School where she taught concert choir and piano lab classes. She is so excited to be back at her alma mater, and to continue the tradition of musical excellence at KAHS! In her free time, she likes cooking and baking with her sister, reading, singing (of course), traveling with friends and spending time with family.
