Hi there, I'm Karli (Terlinde) Nance, a May 2024 Graduate from the University of South Carolina. I have received my B.S in Middle-Level Education with concentrations in English and Science. I am currently employed as an 8th Grade Science Teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth District and am beyond excited for the 2024-2025 school year!
Why teach? Teaching, to me, is more than just a profession; it's a calling rooted deeply in my belief in the transformative power of education. From the beginning, I've been inspired by the profound impact educators can have on shaping lives and fostering growth.
Why Middle-Level? Teaching at the middle level is where I feel I can make the most significant impact. Adolescence is such a crucial time of transition, where students are not only navigating academic challenges but also undergoing profound personal and social development. I'm drawn to this age group because I believe in the power of education to shape not just minds but also character.
Middle schoolers are at a pivotal stage where they are forming their identities, beliefs, and attitudes towards learning. I want to be there to guide and support them through this critical period, helping them discover their strengths, interests, and passions. By fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, I aim to instill in my students a love for learning, resilience in the face of challenges, and empathy towards others.
I recently got married on 6.22.24.
My husband is a pilot so we love to go fly!
I am so fascinated by the ocean (but terribly scared of sharks)
I LOVE science! Especially experiments!
