The Problem

Following interviews, management decided to implement a more thorough onboarding process that would improve employees' understanding of the company culture and day-to-day operations, rather than a handbook-based method. This will allow for a better understanding of the company's operations.

The Solution

Zoomevotech Solutions Onboarding Training effectively prepares new employees by introducing them to the organization's culture, key policies, and available benefits. The training uses interactive learning strategies, such as scenarios and multimedia content, to ensure that new employees not only understand important company information, but also feel included and valued from the start. The training prepares employees for success and satisfaction by covering everything from company history to detailed policy explanations and benefit overviews.

My Process

For the Zoomevotech Solutions Onboarding Training, I used a detailed instructional design approach based on the ADDIE framework to ensure an organized process from analysis to evaluation. The training uses a vibrant color scheme to reflect the company's dynamic and innovative culture, as well as thoughtful design principles that prioritize transparency and engagement.

On the technology front, I used Articulate Rise's advanced features to create an immersive learning experience. This included accordion tabs, blog/image tabs, process blocks, timelines, flashcard grids, and flashcard stacks, which increased the interactivity of the training. Significant effort was also put into video editing and incorporating AI voiceovers to create a rich multimedia learning environment.

To assist stakeholders with providing feedback during the approval process, a detailed storyboard and course outline were developed early in the process, complete with mockup images and scripts.

Results and Takaways

Although the Zoomevotech Solutions Onboarding Training is a hypothetical example that was not used in a real-life situation, it was created to be highly effective. If implemented, it is expected to be well-received by new employees, providing them with a thorough understanding of the company and the knowledge they need to thrive in their new roles.

Creating this training taught me the critical importance of working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture all of the details required for a thorough onboarding process. This project demonstrated the importance of careful preparation and sensitive content delivery, particularly when communicating the company's values and expectations to new employees. The creative process of designing the training's visual and interactive elements was especially rewarding, as it helped me improve my skills in using digital tools to create engaging and informative educational content.
