Do you enjoy providing feedback to teachers and scholars?
Do you want to have a voice in what does and does not get published in Kansas English?
Do you want to provide important mentoring and leadership within the profession?
Kansas English is published once a year, and reviewers play an integral role in ensuring the high quality, relevance, and importance of articles published in the journal.
Reviewers review 1-2 manuscripts (approx. 4-15 pages each) per year and are given 3-4 weeks in February to evaluate manuscripts based upon the significance of the piece to the field of English/literacy education, soundness of the methods/approach employed/described, and clarity of the writing.
Reviewers provide constructive feedback and suggestions for revision; the review process should be educative for authors.
Accept (only minor revisions needed, if any)
Conditionally Accept (author makes some revisions, or editor makes revisions with author’s consent)
Revise and Resubmit for Review (substantial revisions necessary; author may resubmit with no guarantee of publication)
Reject (even if revised, the manuscript is not suitable for publication in Kansas English because of topic, style, or audience)
Finally, if the editor asks an author to revise and resubmit, reviewers read and respond to the revision.
Contact Katie Cramer at Katie.Cramer@wichita.edu if you are interested in serving on the editorial review board.
Please note that editorial review board members may still submit manuscripts to KE.
