1. Boron-Based Strong Acceptors for NIR-II Dyes

Employing boron moieties to enhance the electron affinity of electron acceptors has proven to be an effective approach. Several research groups have reported exceptionally attractive structures using this strategy. However, the majority of these structures exhibit emission/absorption wavelengths below 1000 nm. In the context of biological applications, dyes with emissions/absorptions in the second near-infrared region (NIR-II) are highly desirable. One of our targets is to develop potent boron-based acceptors, aiming to achieve D-A type NIR-II dyes.
