Congratulations to Zhaobo on successfully defending his master's thesis! Zhaobo was the first student I co-supervised with Prof. Bing Wang at NIMTE. During his master’s studies, he developed a series of boron-based NIR-II materials for bioapplications. Some of these compounds exhibit particularly intriguing properties and demonstrate outstanding performance in biological systems. The results will be published soon—stay tuned! This September, Zhaobo will begin his PhD studies with me at Hainan University. Looking forward to the exciting work ahead! 2025-07-17
Our work on the synthesis of BN-embedded PAHs via a convenient haloboration reaction at room temperature has been accepted by Organic Letters. Congratulations to everyone involved, and special thanks to Xiaoran, Zhaobo, and Qing-Yun for their huge efforts. 2024-11-25

Our recent Org. Lett. paper was highlighted by Nature Synthesis.
Our work on the oxygen directed trans-haloboration of alkynes for synthesizing oxaborines was accepted by Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.! The paper is freely accessible here.
In this work, we discovered a convenient haloboration method enabling the facile synthesis of halogenated oxaborinines. The oxaborine compounds can serve as precursors to the newly discovered ultra-broad-spectrum β-Lactamase Inhibitor QPX-7728!
Our work on BN-doped helicenes has been selected as Chemical Science Themed Collection on "Emerging Frontiers in Aromaticity".
