Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue
I was the ATD for Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue in September of 2025.
I was responsible for plating our drafts and making sure everything was ready for our carpenters. There were 2 general sections, the "Empty Space" and the "Garden." The empty space was comprised of three levels of platforms, ramps, and cubes the actors could stand and sit on. The garden was large plywood leaves that had flower petals hung from them. We CNCed the hard leaves, the flowers were "paper macheted" from recycled muslin and molded onto wire rod that we welded together.
My TD was a classmate in my grade, and I was the Lead Carpenter as well as the ATD. The hardest thing about this show was that we only had 4 days to build it. This show is what our professors affectionally referred to as a 9-day miracle because we had 4 days for build and 5 days for load in.
