I am the Td for Cyrano de Bergerac at UNCSA from September 2025-March 2026
I was responsible for the budget, labor, technical design, and build of this show. This set consisted of 2 18'x24' walls, a 12'x22' automated rectangle of truss, 2 4'x8' rolling, removable platforms, and a 24'x48' MDF floor. My ATD and LC was a third year named Ryan Hedrick. He helped me with plating things for our crew and figuring out our rigging situation.
The hardest part of planning this show was figuring out the rigging. We had to use an I-Beam clamp to hang a truss in the grid that we then hung a Nav-Hoist from, below the grid, to hang the decorative truss from. In actuality, the hardest part of the show was assembling the 18'x24' walls. There was 3 "levels" of walls and then the "front and back" of the walls. We placed the first level, the using ropes and pullies, hoisted the second and third levels. We used the same rope and pully system to raise the front of the walls and hold it there while someone on a ladder secured it.
