Bobby grew up in El Paso, Texas, where his love of music and history began long before he ever stepped into a classroom.

For many years, music was his primary focus. He studied guitar at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, performed, and taught guitar lessons to both children and adults. Those experiences helped shape a belief that continues to influence his approach to teaching and learning today: people learn best when they are engaged, encouraged, and given opportunities to pursue their interests.

Like many educators, Bobby's path into teaching wasn't a straight line. After returning to complete a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with a minor in History, he eventually found himself working with students in both general education and special education settings. Over the past eight years, he has supported learners with a wide variety of strengths, interests, and learning styles.

One of the things people quickly notice about Bobby is that he is endlessly curious. Whether the conversation is about history, music, culture, fitness, current events, or practical life skills, he loves learning and sharing what he knows with others.

As a founding member of Kaleidoscope Learning Collective, Bobby plays an important role in helping transform ideas into reality. From renovating the future schoolhouse and developing new opportunities for students to helping tackle the countless projects that come with building a community from the ground up, he is involved in nearly every part of the journey.

As Kaleidoscope grows, Bobby hopes to help create opportunities for older learners through career exploration, independent living skills, physical wellness, mentorship, practical life experiences, and eventually music instruction and guitar lessons for community members interested in learning.

At its heart, Kaleidoscope is built on a belief that learning doesn't stop when school ends. Some of the most valuable lessons come from following our interests, trying new things, building relationships, and remaining curious about the world around us.

That spirit of curiosity is something Bobby brings to Kaleidoscope every day.
