Buds
(2-3 years)

Our classes are small and our hearts are big.  We love our buds!  We focus on learning through play in all our classes, but especially in our buds class.  We learn colors, shapes, textures, sizes, weights, senses, and so much more, all through play! Play allows the kids to explore what interests them and as we, the teachers, watch the kids, we are able to teach them everything they need to know considering their individual interests.

Our Buds class provides a gentle transition into our structured preschool program. This class is open to 2-3 year old students and introduces children to carefully designed learning environment with age-appropriate activities in various learning centers such as blocks, art, dramatic play, science and sensory, and language and literacy. Children explore their interests in their community and the world around them with an emphasis on the natural environment. Small group math and literacy activities provide a solid foundation for our Sprouts academic curriculum. Montessori-based activities at this age put an emphasis on practical life skills including dressing, eating independently, washing hands, and toileting. Enrollment in the Buds class is limited to six children so the teacher/mentor can assist with the process of learning these essential skills.
