Perfect Copy (2008)

Live performance for group exhibition. For the duration of the show's opening night I stood in the gallery attempting to ice 50+ edible vanilla cupcakes in exactly the same way. Wearing a little black dress and a frilly vintage apron, the work explored perfectionism, performative femininity, the devaluing of women's art, and my anxieties around "making it" as an artist. More than once I was asked when the catering would be ready...

SUMMERLOVE (2006)

Live lights and dance performance. Using a basic electronics circuit, I attached a series of mercury tilt switches to my body which turned coloured flood lights on and off as I danced. Created for my final Creative Electronics assessment (ECU).
