Pitstop in Squamish π
During my Canadian adventure, we drove from Vancouver to Whistler and back, and Squamish made for the perfect little pit stop in between. Nestled halfway along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway, this laid-back mountain town is surrounded by some seriously stunning views β towering cliffs, lush forests, and endless stretches of water. Itβs the kind of place that instantly makes you want to slow down and take it all in.
We stopped off to grab some food, wander through a few local shops, and stretch our legs after the drive. The town has a really relaxed, outdoorsy vibe β you can tell itβs a favourite for hikers, climbers, and adventure seekers. There are heaps of nature-based activities to do around Squamish, like taking the Sea to Sky Gondola for panoramic mountain views or visiting Shannon Falls Provincial Park, where you can walk right up close to one of BCβs tallest waterfalls.
The Stawamus Chief also looms large in the background β one of the largest granite monoliths in the world β and there are plenty of walking tracks and lookouts nearby if you have extra time to explore. Whether youβre grabbing a coffee from a local cafΓ©, browsing the boutique stores, or just enjoying the mountain air, Squamish is the perfect place to break up the journey between city and snow. Itβs small but full of character β a little taste of BCβs wild side without venturing too far off the beaten path.
