How do I use another BrandMeister talkgroup with the CS800D?

** Best option is to select from the available channels, if it exists. Each DMR channel is normally configured for a Talkgroup. If no channel exists for your desired talkgroup, try this method.

1. Select a Repeater Channel not permanently assigned to a Talkgroup. For OBX Mamie VHF, use a channel other than OBX 31377 from the Mamie BM Zone.

2. From the mic enter numbers for desired talkgroup, ex. 91 for Worldwide.

3. Press the enter button from the mic, which is the O in the bottom right, the radio will show "Private Call".

4. Press the mic down arrow one time, the radio will show "Group Call".

5. Press the PTT key to send the Talkgroup to the repeater.

Notes:

The repeater will remain on that talkgroup based on a timer. This timer is based on the last time a local station uses that Talkgroup for transmit. After the timeout is triggered based on no local PTT with that Talkgroup id, the repeater will return to the default talkgroup.

The repeater status for OBX Mamie VHF can be found at: https://brandmeister.network/?page=repeater&id=311021

Where can I find a callsign for a DMR id?

DMR-MARC serves as the registration authority for DMR ids. This database contains all DMR ids for users which is a list of 130k+.

You can search for a callsign by DMRid, a DMRid based on callsign, location, etc.

What changes are made to a TAARS CS800D code plug during installation on a rig?

The firmware versions of the rig should be verified BEFORE the code plug is loaded. Code plugs are generally specific to a version of firmware.

The DMR user id must be updated for the primary user of the radio. ( This is the CRITICAL setting. )

Audio levels should be checked and adjusted for TX and RX audio. This may be accomplished using an analog repeater and a DMR via Parrot (BM) or Echotest (PRN).

After loading the code plug and testing the audio levels the code plug should be saved for reloading in the future or confirming channels, zones and other settings with the CPS Application.
