Το μικρό μέγεθος του σπιτιού, ο καπνός από την εστία στο νότιο τμήμα και η σκόνη από το έδαφος πιθανότατα να δημιουργούσαν μια αμυδρή ατμόσφαιρα κατά τις ώρες που η εστία ήταν σε χρήση. [...] Το φως από την εστία και οι έντονες σκιές που τρεμοπαίζουν, ειδικά μετά τη δύση του ηλίου, μπορεί να είχαν χρησιμοποιηθεί για αφηγήσεις ιστοριών, για παραμύθια και πρωτο-θεατρικές παραστάσεις χρησιμοποιώντας ειδώλια, εργαλεία και καθημερινά αντικείμενα.
Light in a Neolithic dwelling: Building 1 at Koutroulou Magoula (Greece)
There are no particular indications about the shape of the roof and its supports, but Neolithic house models suggest that it could have been flat, gabled, covered with reeds or straw and possibly a thin layer of clay for waterproofing. [...] In all experiments, the north-west corner [of Buliding 1] seems to be the darkest area [...]. The small size of the structure, the smoke from the hearth in the southern part of the building and the dust from the ground would have all created a dim atmosphere during the hours that the hearth was in use. [...] Light from the hearth and strong flickering shadows, especially after sunset, might have been used for storytelling and proto-theatrical performances using figurines, tools and everyday objects.
