In this tutorial, I’m going to walk you through how you can get started with Amazon affiliate marketing, so that you can start making money with this popular affiliate program.

1. Signup For Amazon Associates 

First and foremost, you need to visit the Amazon Associates website and you signup as an affiliate. 

Once you’re on this page, you’ll be given a signup form that you’ll need to fill-out. 

Simply provide your details, then you submit your application for processing.

Once done, you’ll have to wait for few days, and you’ll be notified via email on whether you’ve been accepted or not.

If your application gets accepted, then great! Move on to step 2.

However, if your application gets rejected, you might need to work on addressing the highlighted issues, then you re-apply again.   

2. Choose Products To Promote 

Assuming you’ve been accepted into the program, the next step is to choose products to promote.

On Amazon, there’s thousands of products which falls in various categories & niches.

But the key is to choose only those which are related to your niche, rather than trying to promote everything on the marketplace.

For instance, if your main area of interest is tech, you might need to only select products which falls in that category e.g. smartphones, laptops, accessories, etc.

That way, you wont get overwhelmed by trying to promote too many products at once.    

3. Choose A Promotional Platform  

Once you’re aware of the products that you wanna promote, you should quickly choose a promotional platform – i.e.,

‘Where do you intend to promote those offers?’

Is it Instagram?

Or YouTube?

Or TikTok?

Or maybe through a Blog?

It’s very key to choose a platform that you really like, so that you wont be overwhelmed by producing content for that platform.

For example, if you’re someone like me who really enjoys writing, then a blog might be ideal for you.

However, if you’re someone who really likes filming videos, then maybe YouTube might be a great platform for you.

The key is to identify your main strengths/passions/interests, then you choose a platform which really suits that.

4. Start Producing Valuable Content 

Assuming you’ve chosen a platform, you should start uploading some valuable content that’s related to your niche.

For example, if you’re a tech guy, then you should focus on uploading some tech related content based on what people are searching for.

This helps you to build a tribe of people who knows, likes, and trusts you, since you’ll be providing value to those people.

And when you finally recommend a certain product to them, they’ll most likely buy it i.e. due to the power of reciprocity.

The key is to include your Amazon links in your content only when necessary, so that your audience wont feel like you’re just trying to rip them off.

NB: You can also do some product reviews and comparisons, since customers are always looking for this type of content before making their final purchasing decisions.
