Intensification (as the government's 'land use' suggests) should be reduced and replaced with more regenerative techniques to improve soil health.

Save our arable fields. We ware loosing 2 million tons of soil from our best soils in the East, mainly arable growing grain and vegetables. And nobody is talking about it.
This form of growing also contributes 2-3% of the nation's GHGs but nobody seems to notice all that Nitrogen fertiliser - that takes so much energy to make and gives off nitrous oxides - 300X more potent than carbon dioxide.
I developed the first Masters degree in UK in Regenerative Farming.

Look at this satellite photo of UK after some rain, where you ca see the loss of soil =- dark from the moors in the West and light-coloured soil (grade 1&2) going into North Sea. We are loosing about 3 millio9n tonnes of this fabulous resource a year and nobody is talking about it.
