In order to apply, nominee must meet the following requirements:

• Graduating from high school during academic application year
• Be a member or son/daughter of a member of the Calumet Region Striders
• Be a student in good standing at the high school they are attending
• Nominee must complete application in full
• Submit application no later than April 1st of application year

Applications are taken from February - April 1st each year

Jim Cox, a very active member of the Calumet Region Striders, was diagnosed with Leukemia in August 1993 and on October 15, 1993 succumbed to the disease at the young age of 57 years.

Jim's family started a fund which Calumet Region Striders designated as a scholarship fund and is given to CRS members or their children when they enroll as college freshmen.
