Last week we explored the world of patterns! We practiced making 2-step and 3-step patterns using colours, shapes, and different materials. Some of us even managed to create 4-step patterns, which really impressed Ms. McAdam and Ms. Murphy. Learning about patterns is important because it helps us get ready to understand number patterns in the future. We also enjoyed some problem-solving activities—working out what comes next, finding the missing part and spotting mistakes in patterns!
We also learned from each other! After making our own patterns, the teacher displayed them on the board. We explained how our patterns worked, and the class had to figure out what came next. It turns out we’re pretty great teachers ourselves!
