Maths Week ran from 10th to 17th October, celebrating the importance of maths in our everyday lives and promoting positive attitudes towards the subject! We discovered that maths can be both fun and exciting — it didn’t even feel like work! Take a look at some of the activities we enjoyed…
Maths Quiz
Along with hundereds of other Junior Infant students across the country we took part in an online maths quiz on Wednesday. The quiz had us counting, listening to music, looking for patterns and finding shapes. We had so much fun!
Maths Trails
Our 6th class buddies helped us to complete a maths trail in our school classroom and corridor. They helped us count, measure, compare and spot shapes in our environment. The 6th class children were super helpful and we are hoping we can do more fun things with them soon!
Fun with Javelins
We also took part in a school wide competition to see how far we could throw a javelin. We thought about how we could measure it and decided to use our feet! Our 6th class buddies helped us to count and make sure our measuring was accurate!
