Junghee Bae is an associate professor in the Department of Social Welfare at Sungkyunkwan University. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia's School of Social Work in 2019. Before joining Sungkyunkwan University, she worked as an associate research fellow at the National Youth Policy Institute from 2019 to 2021, where she published various research reports related to youth policy.
Her research focuses on two main areas: (1) the innovative management of organizations with social missions and (2) the vulnerabilities of young adults. She is particularly interested in the innovative operational principles of diverse organizations such as social enterprises and human service organizations. She examines how organizational features—including legal forms, financial structures, culture, leadership, and network activities—affect the performance of these organizations. Additionally, she has a strong focus on the vulnerabilities of young adults who have historically been overlooked in social policies. She explores how innovative intervention through social participation and social entrepreneurship can help alleviate the challenges that young adults face in the modern era.
