Professor Bae conducts the following courses across the undergraduate program, general graduate school, and social welfare graduate school at Sungkyunkwan University.
This course aims to understand the theories and practical examples of the social economy from a social welfare or social science perspective and to cultivate competencies as experts in the social economy. Specifically, this course focuses on enhancing research skills by analyzing various concepts related to the social economy from empirical and theoretical dimensions, especially for students pursuing research in social economy or social welfare. Ultimately, students will identify intersections between their areas of interest and the social economy, developing these into research projects.
This course aims to understand the theory and practical cases of nonprofit organizations management to cultivate competencies as a nonprofit organization professional. In particular, the course focuses on the increasingly popular social enterprises within nonprofit organizations. Ultimately, students will learn how to address social issues by using the nonprofit / social enterprise approach and develop this into a proposal format. The course will be conducted in a flipped learning style, where students will derive practical outcomes through active team discussions based on the lecture content each week.
Social welfare administration involves a variety of activities performed by managers in the practical process of converting social welfare policies into social welfare services. Its importance is gradually increasing for the efficient and effective provision of social welfare services. Accordingly, this course aims to understand the concept and importance of social welfare administration. Based on this understanding, students learn the knowledge and skills necessary for the efficient operation of social welfare organizations. Specifically, it focuses on acquiring the knowledge and skills required for planning, implementing, managing, evaluating, and innovating the activities of social welfare organizations.
This course provides a broad understanding of various issues related to youth, including employment, housing, education, welfare, health, and social participation, exploring diverse ways to improve the quality of life for young people. In addition to gaining insight into youth policies such as the Framework Act on Youth, the Basic Youth Policy Plan, and youth policy evaluation, students will also learn about the social service delivery systems that support youth, including youth centers and nonprofit organizations dedicated to addressing youth issues.
This course aims to provide social welfare administration or social welfare researchers with an understanding of various concepts and issues related to social welfare administration from empirical and theoretical perspectives, building their competencies as experts in the field.
