The goal of education is to nurture healthy, happy adults. Rochester is a well-resourced district that provides numerous opportunities for students to explore their best futures.

Students deserve multiple paths to successful futures. To support the greatest number of students, we need to support all the possible paths to successful futures for our students. While some students will thrive in the traditional AP to degree path, there are other options. Therefore, the district must offer diverse pathways to post-high school success, including trades and military careers.

Our libraries should reflect the diversity of our community. In a diverse community like Rochester, students must see themselves and their backgrounds represented in our libraries.

All students deserve a school community where they feel safe, respected, and included. Creating such a culture is foundational to fostering their ability to learn, grow, and ultimately thrive. 

Teachers and instructional staff play a vital role in shaping the future of our community. Their dedication to educating and nurturing our children should be recognized and better compensated. Addressing the inequities in school funding is essential to ensuring our instructional staff receives the support and compensation they deserve.

I am passionate about robotics and STEAM education. For the past decade, I have served as a mentor in the FIRST robotics community, co-leading the Stoney Cyber Cats FRC 5436 team. Robotics programs empower students to apply math and science to real-world problem-solving while discovering their passions.

My core values are inspiration, innovation, and lifelong learning. Inspiration fuels our beliefs. I am committed to innovation, as evidenced by my IT background and involvement in building educational programs such as the Oakland Schools Virtual Learning Consortium and Detroit Public Schools Virtual School. Innovation is the driver of progress. As a lifelong learner, I firmly believe in adopting a growth mindset.
