Dr. Julie Alspach is a lifelong educator, advocate, and leader dedicated to ensuring all students have access to a high-quality, equitable education. A proud Rochester Hills native, she has devoted her career to serving Michigan’s schools in a variety of roles, including teacher, administrator, and school board trustee. With expertise spanning special education, general education, and educational leadership, Julie has worked in districts of all sizes—from Detroit Public Schools Community District to Oakland Schools ISD—gaining a broad perspective on student and educator needs.
Currently serving on the Rochester Community Schools Board of Education, Julie is committed to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their background or post-graduation pathway. She champions Career and Technical Education (CTE), skilled trades, military service, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that education prepares students for success beyond the classroom.
Julie’s leadership extends beyond policymaking—she has mentored new teachers, built innovative learning programs, and advocated for strong, research-based instructional practices. Holding a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Oakland University, she continues to shape the future of education through her work in human resources, compliance, and program development.
Passionate about defending public education from political agendas that marginalize students, Julie believes in "all means all"—ensuring that every student sees themselves reflected in their curriculum and receives the support they need to succeed. Whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or the community, she remains steadfast in her mission to elevate public education and empower the next generation of learners.
