As a proud first-generation American, I have broken barriers as the first in my family to graduate high school and college. Currently pursuing a Master's in Higher Education Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio, my higher education journey began with an Associate's in Science from Northwest Vista Community College, followed by a Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. This path fueled my passion for environmental conservation and community empowerment through education.
Having overcome many challenges and experienced the transformative power of education firsthand, I am driven to inspire others by committing to creating an inclusive learning environment. With nine years of experience working in higher education, I have realized the importance of having someone with a science background in a higher education administration role. This unique combination of expertise allows me to understand the needs of STEM students and advocate for their success.
I believe that leaders in higher education should reflect the student body they intend to serve. Education is a fundamental human right, and I firmly believe that there is no justice for one unless there is equity for all.
