Athletes of any and all volleyball experience levels who are entering grades 5-8 in fall 2026.
No prior experience with volleyball is required.
This opportunity is open to as many athletes as we can recruit, with the goal of creating teams of about 10-11 players in size. Again, our goal is to offer the opportunity to play to as many athletes as possible and grow the sport of volleyball in our community.
Coaches Needed
We cannot run this program without coaches, so we appreciate adults’ ability to help, especially those who have experience with volleyball. Please indicate your willingness to coach on the registration form. Coaches will complete league-required background checks, and (online) SafeSport and IMPACT training. Expenses for these items will be reimbursed by the league. As compensation for this time commitment, the head coach of each team will have the league fee reimbursed for their athlete.
Middle school students will learn and practice the fundamental volleyball skills, compete against other regional teams, and, most importantly, have fun.
Practices
2 practices per week starting in August. Coaches will choose the practice night based on team and coach availability. Practices will be held on a weeknight at one of our Muskego Norway school district gymnasiums, and will be about 90 mins in length. Occasional practices will be held at OAW in New Berlin, if gym availability is limited.
Matches
Matches are set by the Greater Milwaukee Power League: (see link for 2026 schedule).
Each team will have 2-3 matches per weekend of the league at (Sting Center, Center Court, MOSH, or OAW) of bracket play based on team ranking and performance (adjusted throughout the season)
Each match will consist of 2 games to 21 points, with a tiebreaker game to 15 points. These will be scheduled in bracket-style, with breaks and reffing responsibilities.
Teams will be formed after tryouts and finalized in June. There will be at least one practice per week during the evening and 2-3 matches per weekend on Saturday or Sunday (see the GMPL site for an overview of the time slots). The league runs from ~September 12 - October 25th.
Tryout registration (runs through tryouts) begins April 27, 2026
League registration (after tryouts, league registration will be due June 15, 2026)
Practices and league play begin in August, with the first matches on September 12, and continue through October 25th (no matches scheduled for first weekend of October due to club tryouts).
