Coach Joyce is passionate about aquatic fitness and recreational swimming and has had the privilege of coaching multiple sports. Growing up in Southern California, she began swimming at an early age and competed with the Mission Viejo Nadadores Swim Team. At age twelve, she discovered the artistic side of the sport while competing on the Jasana Pacifica Synchronized Swim Team. During her college years, she worked at the Long Beach Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool as a swim instructor, aquatic fitness instructor, and swim coach.
As an older athlete, Joyce has come to value water as a powerful tool for recovery from sports injuries. She appreciates the versatility of aquatic training and the ability to create a wide range of workouts using various training tools. In fact, her 85-year-old mother, Wendy, trains in the water with Joyce. Inspired by the joy and benefits of one-on-one aquatic fitness training with her mother, Joyce is passionate about offering her services to individuals who want to move confidently and comfortably in the water.
Coach Joyce enjoys working with clients of all ages and ability levels and has experience teaching both children and adults. As your personal trainer in the water, she meets you where you are with compassion and encouragement while providing specific corrective feedback and consistent fitness accountability. Whether your goal is gentle aqua fitness, deep-water interval training, or improving swimming stroke mechanics, Joyce offers personalized instruction designed to build confidence. She develops and delivers safe, effective, and customized exercise programs tailored to meet each client’s individual needs and goals.
