Coach Joyce is passionate for aquatic fitness and recreational swimming.  She has had the privilege of coaching multiple sports. Growing up in southern California, she swam at an early age and competed for the Mission Viejo Nadadores Swim Team.  At age twelve, she found the artistic aspect of swimming when she competed on the Jasana Pacifica Synchronized Swim Team.   During her college years, she enjoyed working at the Long Beach Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool as a swim instructor, aquatic fitness instructor and swim coach.

As an older athlete, Joyce has found water as a tool to help her recover quickly from her sports injuries.  She loves how you can  create a variety of workouts using numerous training tools.  In fact, her 85-year old mother, Wendy, trains in the water with Joyce.  They work on balance, mobility, and strength training in the therapy pool at the Edgar May.  As a result of the joy of one-on-one aquatic fitness training with her mom, Joyce wants to offer her services to those individuals who want to move confidently in the water.

Coach Joyce enjoys working with all levels and has experience working with children and adults.  As your personal trainer in the water, she seeks to meet you where you are at with compassion.  She will provide specific corrective feedback and be a source of fitness accountability.  Whether you need a slow aqua fitness training routine or deep water interval training or develop your swimming stroke mechanics, she is here to provide personalized instruction to build your confidence.   Joyce develops and delivers safe, effective, customized targeted exercise programs to meet the needs and goals of her clients.
