Joyce Yoo Babbitt is a dedicated educator, librarian, and coach with over 30 years of experience across Vermont, California, and Maine. She is currently a Library Media Specialist at Dothan Brook School in Vermont and an Aquatics Instructor at the River Valley Club in New Hampshire.
As a licensed Educational Technology Specialist, Joyce is passionate about empowering others to use digital tools creatively and effectively. Her extensive career includes roles as an elementary school library media specialist, technology teacher, and online graduate instructor for the University of Maine. She is also a recognized leader in her field, having served on the Vermont Red Clover Book Award Committee and the Vermont Humanities Council. In 2016, she was honored as the Vermont Humanities Educator of the Year.
A lifelong learner, Joyce’s work is rooted in coaching, children’s literature, and child development. She holds a BA in History, an MA in Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Library Media Services from California State University, Long Beach.
Beyond the library and classroom, Joyce is an avid athlete and coach. At the River Valley Club, she leads private aquatic fitness sessions, drawing on her background as a competitive swimmer and AEA Certified professional. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, discovering new digital resources, and staying active through swimming and pickleball.
