Joyce Yoo Babbitt loves spending time with her family, weightlifting, paddle boarding, swimming and playing pickleball. She also enjoys sharing stories, finding digital resources and supporting students in their research.  

     Babbitt has over 30 years of experience as a Library Media Specialist in Vermont, California, and Maine. She is an elementary school library media specialist, STEAM teacher, and online graduate instructor.  Babbitt is passionate about helping people creatively use technology tools and has an Educational Technology Specialist license.  She serves on the Vermont Red Clover Book Award Committee and loves evaluating picture books.

Babbitt is a lifelong learner who has focused over the years on children's literature, child development, and fostering creativity through the arts. After receiving her BA in History, MA in Education, and CAS in Library Media Services at California State University of Long Beach, she has furthered her education at various universities to deepen her knowledge and skills. She reached her academic goal of obtaining another advanced degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Maine in 2022.  Babbitt lives in a log cabin in Vermont with her husband and two daughters.
