Career Goal Narrative
Right now, I am focusing on becoming mechanical engineer as a career. I have always been interested in building electronic bottle cars, airplanes and boats with my friends. I think as a teacher, my mom always helped me have fun with it and as an engineer my dad helped converse about it and learn more. In my free time, I like to watch some youtubers as they built project like Colin Furze's Rocket Powered Bike, Smarter Every Day's Air Cannon, or Mark Rober's Automated Dartboard. I think I really started to want to make this a career was either when I started going to The Robobees, a really amazing robotics group that would consistently go to First's World competition or when I started wanting to learn about jet engines.
Currently I have finished AP Computer Science, a robotics camp, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. My mentors Shannon McPartland and David Allocca Sr. along with my old senior David Allocca Jr. have helped me in learning all about electrical including crimping, soldering and different robot components.
I have taken part in sports all season long including being the captain of the JV Leonardtown soccer team, track and captain of the Tennis Team. I was in a robotics camp in elementary school. Currently I am on a Robotics team that has gone to the worlds competition regularly. I have also been a waiter at a social club, had an internship at CTSi and learned of the working environment required.
After Highschool, I am either going to USC, Florida State, Liberty or UMD for a masters in mechanical engineering because I feel that it is my calling and I especially like the hands on work. Although I somewhat know what I want to do outside of college which is to get a job in either Florida or on base at Pax, I might want to go to community for a year if I want to play sports or which school I go to.
When I accomplish my career goal I would like to help my community develop buildings and or architecture. Depending on if I work for the military or a public contractor, I would help evolve and make some of their things more efficient.
