導師介紹：Joshua 區加力 (Violin, Viola)

Training from the age of five

Joshua began violin at the age of five under Au Shing-yiu . He later entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in viola while continuing his violin studies.

Teachers and lineage

At HKAPA, Joshua studied under:

• Dr. Gilbert Sak (石家灃) — Hong Kong's first Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance

• Professor Wang Jiayang (王家陽)  — former Head of Strings, Shanghai Conservatory of Music

• Fan Ting (范丁) — former Second Violin Principal, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra

• Wong Wai-ming (王衛明) — former Concertmaster, Hong Kong Sinfonietta; faculty member, HKAPA

He also studied conducting under Kwun Mei-yu (官美如)  at a specialist music school.

Dedicated study of pedagogy

Joshua's study of how to teach runs as deep as his study of how to play:

• After graduating, he studied the The Wong Group Violin Teaching Method  directly under its founder, Professor Fu-Tong Wong  (黃輔棠)

• He studied pedagogy and assisted with student training at the academy of Jue Yao (姚珏), the internationally recognised violinist and Juilliard graduate

• He currently studies Soviet-school violin pedagogy with Sergey Fatkulin, founder of the Fatkulin Academy (Madrid and Bonn)

• He maintains an ongoing pedagogical dialogue with Professor Wang Jiayang to this day

從五歲開始的訓練

區加力五歲開始學習小提琴，師隨歐成耀老師。其後考入香港演藝學院，主修中提琴，並在學期間同時修習小提琴與中提琴。

教學法的專門研習

Joshua 對「怎麼教」的鑽研，與「怎麼拉」同樣深入：

• 畢業後跟隨黃輔棠教授——「黃鐘小提琴教學法」創始人——學習該套教學體系

• 曾於**姚珏（Jue Yao）**音樂學院研習教學法並協助學生訓練（姚珏為國際著名小提琴家、茱莉亞音樂學院畢業）

• 現持續跟隨 Sergey Fatkulin（Fatkulin Academy 創辦人，馬德里及波恩）學習蘇聯學派小提琴教學法

• 與王家陽教授保持教學法研討，至今未曾中斷

Cherry 陳芷蕙（鋼琴 ‧ 小提琴 ‧ 管風琴）

Training from the age of five

Cherry Chan (陳芷蕙)  began piano at the age of five under Ivy Lo, later taking up violin and organ as well.

Education and teachers

• Music Department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong — majoring in organ, studying under Wong Kin-yu (黃健羭) , faculty member in organ at CUHK, HKAPA and Hong Kong Baptist University

• Further study at the Royal College of Music, London

Performance and church service

Cherry served as organist at St. John's Cathedral, Hong Kong.

The organ demands simultaneous control of hands, feet, stops and the acoustic of an entire building. Years of liturgical and choral accompaniment require unwavering rhythmic steadiness, real-time listening, and the ability to play with others — and these are the first things Cherry asks her piano and violin students to build.

Teaching experience

Cherry has taught organ, piano and violin in Hong Kong at institutions including:

• International Christian Quality Music Secondary and Primary School

• Yip's Children's Choir & Music Practice Centre (founded by Dr. Yip Wai-hong)

• Hong Kong Music Institute (香港音樂專科學校) 

• She went on to establish Professional Strings Academy in Hong Kong 

從五歲開始的訓練

陳芷蕙（Cherry）五歲開始學習鋼琴，師隨 Ivy Lo 老師，其後兼習小提琴與管風琴。

學歷與師承

• 香港中文大學音樂系，主修管風琴，師隨黃健羭老師 ——中大、香港演藝學院及香港浸會大學管風琴導師

• 其後赴英國倫敦皇家音樂學院（Royal College of Music, London進修

演奏與事奉

曾任香港聖約翰座堂風琴師。

管風琴是一件必須同時控制手、腳、音栓與整個空間殘響的樂器；長年的禮儀與合唱伴奏工作，對節奏穩定性、即時聆聽與合作能力有極高要求。這些正是 Cherry 在鋼琴與小提琴教學中最先要求學生建立的基本功。
