In the MAFLT Program, I completed tasks and created materials designed to connect theories with practices. The links below lead to projects that demonstrate my emerging expertise in key areas of language teaching.
For FLT815: Teaching Culture in Foreign Language Classrooms, I created two lesson plans which focus on developing cultural awareness and intercultural skills in novice and intermediate-level German classes. The lessons include objectives, procedures, materials, and a rationale. An overview video is provided for one of the lessons.
For FLT881: Teaching Foreign Languages with Technology, I created an online module for a novice-level French class using Google Classrooms, incorporating multimedia teaching content, interactive components, collaborative activities, technology-facilitated tasks and assessments, and elements of technology-facilitated games and mobile apps.
For FLT808: Assessment in Foreign Language Teaching, I created a model midterm exam for a novice-level German class with an emphasis on maximizing and balancing authenticity, practicality, validity, and reliability. The materials found here include the exam, rubric, and a report & rationale for the exam.
